A compelling case for decorating with black

This year I fell in love with images of painted doors. I decided to paint mine
black. Having a stone floor with an earth tone color, the black seemed to strong. So I dialed it down by using a black with a green undertone. Perfect with my floors.
I'm still loving the ink black, as well as using it throughout the house.

Let's take a look at some photos that show black used in
in decorating. I find it the unifying factor throughout the
house.

Compelling. It just looks good!

Here's how my interior doors are painted.
It looks black, but it does have a green under tone.

  1. Good choice of door color, it zooms the eye in to the end of the hall/entry! And thanks for the post on black, I've been debating all morning whether or not I should paint my living room black... This was the push I needed.

  5. I have been obsessed with black and white lately. It is so classic and sophisticated. I especially love the ink black...and I am a sucker for harlequin floors and zebra anything, so there's that.
