Here's what I've been up to...

Here's what I've  been up to...
Seeing that I'm the type of person that can't sleep well if the paint color is bugging me. I paint. I did something that I've never done before. I've done the exact opposite that I thought I was going to do. I went dark. Very dark.

Let's review...

Now you know why I couldn't sleep. With everything that needs to get done
here all of my budget was going to things that you can't see. So for a gallon of paint I
decided to go for impact. So when I get tired of it it's a quick fix. Now I feel as if the
home is starting to take on a personality.

The trees were removed, and a new fence is going in soon. Not really that exciting.
So in the middle of everything going on I decided to
"be of service" and foster a senior dog.
She's about 12, and is a lab mix. Great from the day she jumped into
my car. I thought I could give a dog in her last years some
comfort, love and peace. Did I mention that she has three legs?

I just found out she's camera shy. Who knew?

The trees are gone, and I can now envision a covered patio, and
hardscape.

Good bye rotting fence...

Things will get moved around a half dozen times...

One more time...

Thank God for paint!!!

I can't wait to see what I do this week, as I have
no plans!

Thank you for stopping in and please feel free to voice your
opinions.

    1. For one gallon of paint I can at least see and feel a change! Yes, the floor is tile that looks like wood. It was in the home when I purchased it. I happen to like living with it. Easy to clean..
Also, they did a herringbone pattern in the entry with a straight lay everywhere else.
      Thanks for stopping in!

    3. Thank you! You're the only one who's mentioned her! I don't know how long she has, or how long we will be together, I know what she is giving me is far greater. "To be of service" I'm sure will hold many lessons for me. I love grooming her, and talking to her. Thank you again for noticing.
PS she really is camera shy. Really funny!!!

  2. I LOVE the drama of dark walls! Especially for a space that doesn't receive that much natural light, I say embrace the dark! Loving how the drapery and furniture just pops right off! Bold, yet brilliant move!

If you have a moment, would love to get your thoughts on my latest design!

  3. I found you through the one room challenge! I really love your dark walls. And is that an orange door? I can't tell. I also see that you have a painted brick fireplace that looks very similar to ours. I'm participating in the one room challenge for the first time and would love for you to stop by!

    1. Hi Jane!
The kitchen cabinets are reflecting and giving off an orange color. The cabinets are a natural color maple. The dining room has a door into the kitchen. I'm going to have a face lift done it there too! Yes the fireplace is brick. The. Entire. Wall. Why fight it? It is what it is. Yes I painted it too. I will definitely be stopping in during the ORC. Thanks for stopping in today, and please come back!
