Show me the light...

Show me the light! It's been so long since I've seen what I've purchased that I can't remember
exactly what it looks like! Still in the boxes, sitting in the garage. It's one of the last things that will be
installed. I think it looks something like this:

The symmetry of this entry way is very pleasing to the OCD in me.

From what I remember, I did select a hanging lantern to be placed front and centered.
The one I have now is stuck to the wall, on the left. Hate it!!!!

Front porch lights, cape cod style

This looks very similar to what I purchased.
I'm not going to tell you the difference, you're going to have
to be surprised.

Signature vinyl lamp post for your yard offered in two colors by Mayne.

I had a light post in the front walkway. It was removed due to wood rot.
A new one will be going up this week. Dare I say that
out loud? If not this week, soon. The light will be more of a round
shape with seeded glass. It will be on a dimmer from the inside that will control
the two carriage lights flanking the garage door. It will also control the
light on the side of the garage, placed above the new window.

Truth be told, not one lighting fixture matched. They told a story of non loving owners.
Plant growth hiding existing fixtures of a time gone by. Each light fixture was from
a different decade. I'm sure of it.

It's the finishing details that bring me the most joy.  After-all,
who can really get excited about everything that went underground?

Needed it. Happy to have it. But let's get to the good stuff!

Slowly, as each stone gets turned, a new, loved, stylish, and well maintained
home will appear. She will radiate with warmth.
Calling for you to gaze at her with her new found beauty.

And you will....

  1. Hi Sharon! I LOVE Edgecomb gray it is a go-to color for me. I think it would look lovely for exterior use that and Rever Pewter are great choices. I love it with Dove White trim and a french blue door!
I cannot wait to see what you choose!! I also love the lantern you have for your home.

  3. The lantern is going to be a lovely change Sharon, I can't wait to see the transformation you've got planned. it sounds like your previous 'unloving' owners were similar to ours. You should see our entire backyard, it needs everything :) I hope your home has some better bones to work with than ours. But I guess it's all about finding joy in the process, don't you think? Otherwise we'd be going bonkers wink..
