Say it isn't so....

I can't believe that I'm actually thinking about this, but I am.

Let me tell you what's going on. I have booked Mike for the back patio. I hope it's going to happen in Sept. I'm not really happy as I try and visualize just concrete. I will be extending the fence up the side of the house and adding two arbors.
The fence will be black iron and inside I will be growing green hedges. I've chosen that because I like the formality and it will offer some much needed privacy. The arbors will add interest and height.

Here's where it gets sticky....

I'm actually thinking of not doing concrete but faux turf. Basically fake grass. I know, and I want your honest opinion. Besides the water restrictions, not having the expense of a gardner, and the  color it will add, I think I might do it. Once the idea came it hasn't left my head. I would add blue stone in front of the door and the walk way, and gate.
It will tie in with the light post.

I think I would like the way the furniture looks sitting on the lawn.
It's a tough call....

Look how great it could be. It would not look the same if it were on concrete. Agreed?

I never thought I would do something like this but I'm leaning in this direction.

Any advise here?

  2. I live in NorCal and our community uses faux grass in a few of the smaller open areas (not the parks) and it looks and feels just fine. I have contemplated this option as well. I say go for it!! It's definitely not the same faux grass from decades ago

  3. Darlene,
You're so right! It's a new and improved look and feel. I think with the right furniture and accessories it could look chic. Thanks for the input. I'm going over to your Etsy spot right now.

  5. I'm curious to see what you decide. I've thought of it too because we're getting close to that point but just can't decide.
