Given with love...

I'm really excited to share with you the bridal shower that was "given with love" for my oldest niece. I was one of six hosts that helped create this magical day.
This post is very personal, and I'm happy to share it with you.

I have to disclose that most of the hosts are extremely talented, and
that made it even more fun for me to be a part of.

Let's meet the bride, Shelby!

The shower was held at a French restaurant,

"Mistrals"
13422 Ventura Blvd.
Sherman Oaks, Calif.

Let's take a look at the cake below. One of the hosts is a
professional baker and she brought her "A" game!
This cake took 8 hours to make, and tasted beyond belief.

Once cut, each slice was plated with a chocolate covered
strawberry with an "I do" note.

And there she is!

While Michelle was busy baking the cake, she also made
the name cards, a plaque for Shelby's chair and helped with the
amazing floral arraignments.

You can contact Michelle for all your sugar needs at

Next to her is another great talent! Meet Jodie, her job is...
Regional Visual Manager / West Coast
for Tory Burch.
You getting the picture here?
She, also helped with the stunning flowers.
I kept hearing her say buy more French Tulips.
 "We need texture".

The room held 5 tables, and we had 40 guests.

My job, along with Andrea, was to provide cookies as a take away.
Easy enough, until I picked them up and decided to add some color...
24 hours before the party.
Nothing like a little stress...
Sticking with the French restaurant feel I thought an ombre ribbon
that complimented the flowers was just the ticket! I filled little boxes with
three macaroons purchased at Napoleons Macaroons.

Once we all arrived, Michelle had the name cards and we decided to tie them to
the boxes and use them as place cards.

Susan purchased extra flowers and she added them to the napkins
with twine.

Everyone was having a great time!

Sam arrived as a surprise with a beautiful bouquet just in time to open the gifts.
(How did he know to get flowers that tied in perfectly with the art work?)

Her sister having some fun with the gifts!

Upon leaving, the wedding dress cookies were handed out at the door.
Seriously, between the chocolate candy on the table,
the cake, the macaroons, if you haven't had enough sugar, please take some with you
 for the car ride home.

It was a heart felt day, filled with love.
Jodie , Shelby's step mom, gave a wonderful speech recognizing the passing
of my sister 12 years ago, and acknowledging the women in the room who
forged very strong relationships with her.  They are still very present in her children's lives.

What I have learned is to remember the past, but stay present.
Have gratitude for the blessings that surround me daily.

Thanks for stopping in today. I hope you feel inspired to expand your
creativity, and celebrate the good times with friends and family!

We have a lot to smile about,

Sharon
